Jean-Paul SPANG
Jean-Paul specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and equity offerings and is active in private equity (including leveraged buy-outs) and capital markets. He handles large M&A deals and also acts for listed companies.
He is a highly recognised practitioner and expert in his practice areas and boasts an experience of over 30 years. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, he was a partner with Linklaters LLP for more than 10 years.
Jean-Paul lectures on company and securities law at Luxembourg University. He has co-drafted several bills (including the Luxembourg implementation of the Societas Europaea) and co-authored books, namely on Luxembourg company law reform (2008), securitisation (2008), cross-border mergers (2010), modernisation of Luxembourg company law (2016, 2017 and 2020) and Luxembourg implementation of EU shareholders’ rights directive (to be published, 2022).
He is a member of the commission for modernisation of company law with the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice.
